PROJECT OVERVIEW
CONCEPT
The Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gullwing" stands as one of the most iconic designs in 20th-century automotive history. Launched in 1954, this coupé revolutionized not only through its timeless aesthetics but primarily through its signature gullwing doors an ingenious solution born from technical necessity: the tubular space frame chassis occupied the sides, making conventional doors impossible.
This personal CGI project aims to capture the essence of this classic through a photorealistic approach, exploring meticulous details of the silver bodywork, the characteristic reflections of the original chrome, and the elegance of the lines that defined an era. Each frame was developed to honor the legacy of this automobile that made history on race tracks and streets, remaining relevant today as a benchmark of design and engineering.

BRUNOCORTES.ART STARTED WITH A SIMPLE OBSESSION: MAKING IMAGES.

WHAT BEGAN WITH GRAPHIC DESIGN GREW INTO A CONSTANT EXPLORATION OF ART DIRECTION, DIGITAL ART, 3D, COMPOSITING, AND VISUAL STORYTELLING. HERE, IDEAS BECOME IMAGES FROM ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS AND KEY VISUALS TO WORLDS THAT EXIST ONLY BECAUSE THEY WERE IMAGINED FIRST. I LIKE THE PROCESS AS MUCH AS THE RESULT. BUILDING, BREAKING, REBUILDING, PAINTING, COMPOSITING, AND PUSHING A PIECE UNTIL IT FEELS RIGHT.

NO FIXED FORMULA. JUST GOOD IDEAS, STRONG IMAGES, AND A LOT OF PIXELS.
